Handknitting With Meg Swansen Reviews
I had a copy of this book, and managed to lose it. It was eminently worth replacing! Meg Swansen is an insightful, creative knitter who has a clear, light, and engaging writing style. There are a good number of very clear illustrations, making it easy to follow along. While there aren't a great number of patterns in this deceptively slim volume, it contains quite a number of inventive knitting techniques which will make your knitting more enjoyable, as well as help you to grow as a knitter.
Excellent book. Am finishing the Dubblemosa Hat and love it. Looking forward to making the vest. You do have to have a good knowledge of knitting. This book is not a 1,2,3 directions. You have to know what you are doing. But anyone who knows knitting will love it.
I certainly see the wonderful passion Meg Swansen has for knitting. Her mother Elizabeth had the humor in her books which I miss. I do wish she would put this on a kindle version as well as the Schoolhouse press books and come into the 21st century. Tradition is fine and wonderful but make the next generation see it and don't let it go into the archives. Maybe Cully can work on that.
Small book packed with lots of information. Great to fill out your classic knitting library.
An excellent small book that will be in my knitting library forever!!
