Top 10 Vienna (DK Eyewitness Travel Guide) Reviews
It is a good guide book but not clear enough about the location & quility ofresturants. It is not enough to have appx. address, and some rest. very not as good as the book recommand.overall it is a good guide book but I think the Marco Polo books are muchmore informative.
I had the misfortune of buying the kindle edition of this book as I cannot read the small print in the print version. But I was extremely disappointed. There is a big difference between the 2 editions. The images of the various attractions in the kindle edition are microscopic and get blurred if zoomed. The maps are also ridiculous, indistinct and tiny. They could as well have been not there! The text reads fine and is useful but one cannot relate the text to the map (albeit useless) to get an idea about where the various attractions are actually located. There are no links, for example, from the various attraction description pages to the map; so one has to navigate back to the start of each section to get hold of the map. A textbook example of how NOT to do things !I would certainly NOT recommend the kindle edition of this book to any potential buyer. If you have a good pair of eyes go out and buy the print edition but never the kindle version.
Purchased this recently as one of my first kindle ebook purchases having given only the briefest of a review to the sample book. I failed to notice that the images and other content hadn't downloaded until I actually bought the book. I've actually not bothered to read the whole thing as I'm really quite disappointed that it's text only and that I can see the image placeholders on there but no images. I've emailed DK and had no reply which has hardly inspired me to buy other DK products. It would be great to actually be able to review the whole book and a reply from DK to help me address the issues I'm having would be nice...
